ABOUT THE NGO

Tapan is a non-profit organization that has been serving the needs of differently-abled people since 1994. It is known for producing children of national and international caliber in various fields such as athletics, painting, and training in various skills such as candle making, machine, fashion design, smartphone repair, and food processing. Tapan has implemented numerous training programs in partnership with various government and non-government schemes, such as the Bridge course (with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment), caregivers course (with the National Trust), and skill development course (with the ministry of Social Justice, Govt. of India).

Tapan founded “Pragya,” an epitome of wisdom, in Nilokheri in 2014 as a training centre to produce special teachers. With the approval of the Director, Social Justice and Empowerment and Rehabilitation Council of India (a statutory body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment), the first course was launched in 2014. To begin the course, 30 seats were allocated. This course was the first of its kind in Haryana, enabling students from rural areas to enroll in these courses and increase their job opportunities. Students from not only Haryana

But also other states are enrolled in the course, taking the institution’s name to a wider audience.

Tapan received affiliation for a B.Ed. Special in Hearing Impairment in 2017, which is a Rehabilitation Council-approved course affiliated with Kurukshetra University. Tapan has chosen Hearing Impairment as his specialty so far. It provides students with options; however, more courses and resources for students will be beneficial.

To expand and upgrade the professionals employed in the area, the society has organized numerous training programs/workshops at the state and national levels.
